The Yaktrax Walker is designed for people who are looking for an easy-to-use, lightweight traction device.
The Walker is the original version of Yaktrax and is ideal for pedestrians, the elderly, business people or anyone who want greater stability on ice and snow. Use the Yaktrax Walker while walking to and from work, school or just to the mailbox.
The Walker is made out of an injection molded thermal plastic elastomer designed for easy on and off. The coils are protected against rusting and hand-wound to give you 360 degrees of traction on ice and snow. When you walk in the Yaktrax Walker, every step you take places hundreds of biting edges in direct contact with the ice beneath your feet. Yaktrax can be worn in temperatures as low as -41 degrees farenheit.
The patented design of the Walker makes it a unique solution to walking on packed snow and ice. The outerband conforms to the length and width of your boot or shoe. The high strength horizontal coils provide forward and backward stability. The vertical coil pattern on these ice walkers provide side-to-side stability.
Recently tested by hundreds of winter enthusiasts, the Walker has been approved and recommended by the National Health & Wellness Club and the Handyman Club of America.

Yaktrax walker
These are great. I feel so much safer wearing them. If your shoe size is the largest in your range, you might want to order the next larger range. Mine are a little hard to get on my shoe.

Comfort and security on ice.
"The Yaktrax Walker provide secure footing on icy surfaces. Since winter has become an ice/snow/ice event, I keep them on my "backyard" boots all winter. Those boots don't go anywhere other than our snow/ice covered backyard and provide the traction I need to feel confident when I step outside."

More secure on the snow and ice!
I love the yaktrax! We get a lot of snow and ice in the winter and the product allows me more security as I walk my dog about 4 miles a day.

Yax Trackers
They Work!!! BUT..do not walk with them on smooth floors like tile, wood, etc. Great in snow and on ice though!!
I use Sorel boots in the yard. When it gets icy I appreciate having the Yaktax on my boots. They are easy to put on and take off when not needed.

Amazing product!
I absolutely love the snow!!! We haven't gotten much here in (Maryland) these past few years so this season has been wonderful for me! The ice.....not loving that so much. I put my Yaktrax on and I couldn't slide even if I tried. It was amazing -if not a bit mind blowing - just how steady and stable I was on even the slickest surfaces. Love love love them!!!

You can go when others slide.
You can get around in snow and ice. I had a pair for 16 years and one has become loose. So I was going to get another pair. I really go like them.

Disappointing durability for a little old lady
I got these for my 77 year old mom. She is 5'6", weighs about 125 lbs, and wears size 8.5 shoes. I got her Yaktrax size "small," which should fit women's size 6.5-10, yet she couldn't install them herself, and had to ask a handyman who also noted they were difficult to stretch on. (Some perspective: In the same order, I had purchased a second pair of a different brand for other shoes, and those fit her shoes much more easily.) On the bright side, they never slipped off. However, after two months of use, one of the rubber-like spans broke, so part of the thing flops around now. She said that the coils would sometimes snag on the aisle rug at her church which would result in a stretched-out coil that she would have to squeeze back into shape with pliers. (She says those repairs were unrelated to where the unit broke. I haven't seen them in person.) She does love the light weight, and the traction is good/assuring. I suppose she could have brought an extra pair of shoes to wear inside her church, and she does have a habit of scuffing her feet by not stepping high enough, but I feel that if the coils were well designed/formed, they should not have snagged in the first place. Even though they are intended for outdoor use, it seems likely you'd encounter carpet in your daily travels: your car, a store entry mat, etc. I'm not completely opposed to purchasing these again for her, but I think I'll have her try other brands or models first.
